Access Points

Access points are the dedicated hardware that gives offices, warehouses and busy estates reliable WiFi at scale — something a single home router was never built to do.

We plan placement around walls, ceiling height and device density, then run PoE cabling so each access point gets power and data over a single cable.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

What a access points job actually covers.

Capacity & placement planning

Access point count and position planned around how many devices actually connect at once, not floor area alone.

PoE cabling

Power-over-Ethernet cabling run to each access point, avoiding extra power points in awkward ceiling spots.

Ceiling & wall mounting

Access points mounted flush to ceilings or walls for a clean, unobtrusive finish.

Centralised management

Controller-based setups so every access point is managed, updated and monitored from one place.

Seamless roaming

One network name across the whole site, handing devices between access points without dropping.

VLAN & guest segmentation

Staff, guest and device networks kept separate on the same access point hardware.

WORTH KNOWING

Warehouses and outdoor coverage

Warehouses and yards often need outdoor-rated or high-density access points rather than standard indoor units. We quote the right hardware class for the environment rather than a one-size option.

HOW IT WORKS

From quote to hand-over.

01

Site & Density Survey

We check building layout, materials and expected device count per area.

02

Design & Quote

Access point count, placement and cabling routes quoted as a fixed project.

03

Installation

PoE cabling run, access points mounted and powered, controller configured.

04

Testing & Handover

Coverage and roaming tested across the site, with login details handed over.

Common Questions

Straight answers to what people usually ask before booking.

How many access points does an office need?

As a starting point, one access point per 150–200m² of open-plan space, adjusted for walls, device density and building materials — confirmed during the site survey.

Can access points be added to our existing network switches?

Yes, provided the switch supports PoE or we add a small PoE injector or switch alongside your existing setup.

Will devices drop connection moving between access points?

Not with a properly configured multi-AP system — devices hand over between access points on the same network name without a manual reconnect.

Is this different to a home WiFi installation?

Access points are typically for offices, warehouses and estates needing many simultaneous, managed connections. For a home, see our WiFi installation service instead.
